This is a great way to progress-gate players early on. Beam upgrades can be locked behind the milestone track or in the shop (see #8).

Implementation should be straightforward use of parameters which are largely already exposed.

Upgrades:

  • Maximum effective beam distance
  • Beam power (how fast it damages nodes)
  • Annular confinement (the beam point size, or point size multiplier as the case may be)
  • Possibly an upgrade which will allow the beam to slow the monster?
